University of Western Sydney
This project involved electrical upgrades, and refurbishment to sensory lab, and student areas at WSU Richmond campus in building M10. The job had a number of specific requirements including proprietary clock networking, DALI controlled scene lighting, remotely managed emergency lighting, integration and make good of current wiring, and RCBO upgrades. Whilst on site a number of electrical faults were found that prevented the install of RCBO’s on existing circuits. Working with the university we have rectified the faults to maintain the safety of all people in the building and maintaining requirements of the AS3000 electrical standards.
Lighting for the project included supplying and installing custom built recessed linear lights, as well as the specific purpose built RGB colour LED linear light in the sensory labs for food testing with different lighting schemes using a remote colour changing control panel.
We were able to identify design issues that would have led to reduced client satisfaction and rectified them with the builder and client for example: installing two way switching inside and outside for the main linear light in the sensory lab area. If left the way it was would have washed out the colour from the RGB LED light, defeating its purpose.
